【摘要】:Thethermalconductivityofbothundisturbedandremoldedsoilspecimensaswellassoftrockspecimensisusedtoanalyzeanddesignsystemsused,forexample,inundergroundtransmissionlines,oilandgaspipelines,radioactivewastedisposal,andsolarthermalstoragefacilities.Note18212;Notwithstandingthestatementsonprecisionandbiascontainedinthistestmethod;theprecisionofthistestmethodisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting.UsersofthistestmethodarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliabletesting.Reliabletestingdependsonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodpresentsaprocedurefordeterminingthethermalconductivityofsoilandsoftrockusingatransientheatmethod.Thistestmethodisapplicableforbothundisturbedandremoldedsoilspecimensandsoftrockspecimens.Thistestmethodissuitableonlyforisotropicmaterials.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletodrymaterialsoverawidetemperaturerangefromx003C;0to>100x00B0;C,dependingonthesuitabilityofthethermalneedleprobeconstructiontotemperatureextremes.Thismethodmayalsobeusedforspecimenscontainingmoisture.However,caremustbetakentopreventsignificanterrorfrom:(1)redistributionofwaterduetothermalgradientsresultingfromheatingoftheneedleprobe,and(2)phasechange(melting)oficeinspecimenswithtemperaturesx003C;0x00B0;C.Bothoftheseerrorscanbeminimizedbyaddinglesstotalheattothespecimeneitherthroughminimizingpowerappliedtotheneedleprobeand/orminimizingtheheatingdurationofthemeasurement.1.3Forsatisfactoryresultsinconformancewiththistestmethod,theprinciplesgoverningthesize,construction,anduseoftheapparatusdescribedinthistestmethodshouldbefollowed.Iftheresultsaretobereportedashavingbeenobtainedbythistestmethod,thenallpertinentrequirementsprescribedinthistestmethodshallbemet.1.4Itisnotpracticableinatestmethodofthistypetoaimtoestablishdetailsofconstructionandproceduretocoverallcontingenciesthatmightofferdifficultiestoapersonwithouttechnicalknowledgeconcerningthetheoryofheatflow,temperaturemeasurement,andgeneraltestingpractices.Standardizationofthistestmethoddoesnotreducetheneedforsuchtechnicalknowledge.Itisrecognizedalsothatitwouldbeunwise,becauseofthestandardizationofthistestmethod,toresistinanywaythefurtherdevelopmentofimprovedornewmethodsorproceduresbyresearchworkers.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6AllmeasuredandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedInPracticeD6026.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
